SOI Weekly Team Update | October 26-30
WEEKLY TEAM UPDATE

Halloween Week

Trick-or-treating in the halls, a parade, and City Hall on Friday. Read it during your work day and confirm at the bottom.

Team Reflection

This Friday, our halls fill with tiny superheroes, princesses, and pumpkins. And if we're honest, it's not just the kids who light up. Days like this are a reminder that joy is part of the work. The silly moments, the shared laughter, the parade with families cheering from the sidewalk: that's community, and it's one of the things that makes SOI feel like SOI.

This week's reflection: When did you last laugh with a child (or a teammate) this week? What made it land?

Updates & Announcements

Each item is labeled so you can see what applies to you: Everyone or Educators.

Halloween Parade: Friday, October 30 Everyone

The theme is Disney, and costumes are optional! The parade begins at 9:15 AM in the main SOI parking lot. Please review the Halloween Parade Info Sheet thoroughly. It has the details, the process, and parking.

City Hall Trick-or-Treating: Friday, 3:15–4:30 PM Educators

Each year, Dublin City Hall invites our families to trick-or-treat through their city services offices. It's a community tradition we love being part of! We're asking for at least one team member from each class to join, since our kiddos love seeing familiar faces. Please plan to arrive by 3:30. You're welcome to head home directly from City Hall afterward, and any additional class team members are more than welcome to come too.

Friendship Club Trick-or-Treating: Wednesday and Thursday Educators

Friendship Club is trick-or-treating in the halls Wednesday and Thursday, 4:10–4:30 PM. Small groups will ring your doorbell with a TFC teacher, and the kids have been practicing “Trick or Treat” and “Thank You.” They communicate in different ways, so you may see a child tell you, sign, use visuals, or use an AAC device, and some friends may still be shy. Kathryn will have all the goodies ready.

If you or someone from your class will be in the room 4:10–4:30, please reply to Kathryn’s email so she can plan.

Welcome, Anali! Everyone

A reminder that Anali Galloway joins us as our new Occupational Therapist on Monday, November 2. Please give her a warm SOI welcome!

Trainual Certifications Educators

Please have all of your Trainual certifications scheduled and completed with Christina by the end of November. If you haven't certified your first module yet, aim for one by October 31. You can schedule a time here. We suggest completing C1 and M1 together, then M4 and M5 on their own. Lead modules are co-certified with Megan.

Brightwheel: Observations and Daily Activities Educators

Observations: Thank you for continuing to log observations in Brightwheel. It will make a big difference as we prepare for DRDP conferences in the spring. Starting November 2, we resume the expectation of one observation per educator, per student, each week, so make a place for it in your weekly routine now.

Daily activities: We're starting to lose momentum here. Please note each child's food, potty visits and diaper changes, and naps each day, to the best of your ability. Parents are expecting this information from us.

Food Delivery Heads-Up Everyone

If you have a DoorDash, Uber Eats, or other delivery on the way, please send Family Services a quick heads-up with the expected delivery time, the name the order is under, and the PIN if your order needs one. Deliveries are placed in the kitchen when they arrive. Thank you for helping keep our front desk running smoothly!

Bulletin Board Schedule Leads

The 2026–27 bulletin board schedule is ready. If you need a copy, ask Megan.
