-
A cash bequest or gift is one of the easiest ways to make a gift to support the School of Imagination. Simply name the School of Imagination as a beneficiary in your will or trust along with the specific dollar amount you want SOI to receive on your passing.
-
You can also gift specific assets, such as securities, real estate, or non-cash assets to the School of Imagination. There may be some significant advantages to gifting appreciated assets to SOI which you should discuss with your estate planning attorney.
-
You can also designate a percentage of your total estate or the remainder of your trust assets.
-
You can also designate School of Imagination as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA assets. There are significant tax savings in naming SOI as a beneficiary because SOI is a charitable organization.
-
SOI welcomes gifts from DAFs.
Preferred Language When Making Gifts to School of Imagination: School of Imagination, whose mailing address is currently 9801 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, California 94568. (Federal Tax Identification #: 20-8683005), or any organization that is a successor thereto by merger, consolidation, transfer of assets, or other manner provided by law.
-
A living trust is the central document of estate plans. It avoids probate, which in California is very time-consuming, expensive, and reveals everything about your assets to the public. A trust allows you to retain complete control over your income, assets and spending while you are alive and allows for a smoother transition to your intended beneficiaries on your passing.
-
The pour-over will is a specific type of will when used in connection with a trust because it acts as a safety clause, in case any property is held in your name rather than by the living trust.
3. Charitable Remainder or Lead Trust. A CRT or CLT are irrevocable trust instruments where the charitable beneficiary receives its gift either during the trust term or at the end. Depending on your circumstances, charitable trusts offer significant planning opportunities to individuals and benefits to the School of Imagination.
