Getting Better
Three weeks in. You prepared, adjusted, and did it again the next day. That's how people get good at hard things.
Team Reflection
Three weeks in.
You came in prepared. Things didn't always go as planned. You adjusted, kept going, and did it again the next day. That's not just resilience. That's how people get good at hard things.
The research is clear on this: the path to skill isn't waiting until you feel ready or until conditions are perfect. It's preparing the best you can, stepping in anyway, and learning from what happens. Repeat. That's the whole formula.
What I've watched this team do over these three weeks is exactly that. Collaborative when it would have been easier to go it alone. Flexible when the plan changed. Diligent even when the work was still finding its shape. The quality shows.
You are changing lives. And you're getting better at it every single week.
This week's reflection: What did you do this week that you did better than week one, and did you even notice? Notice it. Name it. That's how you'll know how far you've come when week eight feels hard.
Updates & Announcements
Week one went well. Here's the picture of roles and meetings we didn't hand you before school started, now in one place and living in Trainual so it stays current. Two companion pages, each pointing to the other:
- Where to Go for Help — who to bring every kind of question to.
- The Meetings of the Year — what each recurring meeting is for, and what doesn't belong in it.
Please read both this week. Then, in your confirmation below, name one concrete thing you took away, for example, where you'd take a question about a child's strategy versus a room problem.
Megan is scheduling 30-minute conversations between each educator and the BCBA serving the children in their room (Christy, Marian, Crystal), using the Clinician Conversation Guide, the same round our SLPs and OTs did in August. Watch for Megan's invites. You'll lead the conversation with the guide. We're starting with the Sprouts kiddos who changed rooms.
The clinical team is building the first strategy cards now. Educators will start receiving cards for the children who have them.
Your weekly touch times will land on calendars soon. Megan is scheduling them during nap or outside time, so you don't need to find the time yourself.
Next week we welcome a new team member. Rebecca Shapiro joins the Little Stars classroom. Please give her a warm welcome.
Ms. Julie's last day is Friday, August 28th. Thank you, Julie, for the care and heart you brought to our Step 1 little learners and their families. We wish you all the best in your next chapter.
Thank you for your flexibility as we continue to bring in new team members.

Time-off requests now go through Connecteam. Please submit at least three weeks in advance. We understand things come up inside that window; if they do, submit your request in Connecteam and follow up with an email to management, and we'll do our best to arrange coverage.
Amazon accounts stay with the Lead Educator. Classroom Coordinators and Leads, please work together to place curriculum orders in a timely way. As a reminder, there is a $50 monthly limit per classroom. If you need items beyond that, send Ms. Megan a request with the list of items for an exception.
Please submit your monthly supply request by Tuesday to keep ordering on schedule. Supply Request form.
