What an amazing day!
Step-Up is always special — seeing our team come together to support and cheer on the children is something I treasure every year. Today was filled with beautiful moments with the kids, with each of you, and with our families.
Take a moment to reflect on the positive you experienced today. Think about the effort and heart you brought, and the choice you make every day to do work that matters — work that changes children's lives. Hold onto these moments — let them inspire you and carry you through the challenging days ahead.

What you need to know this week.
Memorial Day Closure — Just a friendly reminder that our office will be closed this Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy the long weekend — you've earned it! 🙌 We'll see everyone back on Tuesday, May 26th. 🌟
Late Bird & Early Bird Schedule Update — As we head into summer, please note that due to a reduction in enrollment, all Late Bird classes will be combining and staffed with 2 educators each. Please review the updated schedule here. Schedules will also be updated in Brightwheel. If you have any questions about the changes, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you!
Classroom Schedules — If you are making changes to your classroom schedule (this is especially important as we head into summer), please be sure to share with Family Services + post the updated schedule outside your classroom. Family Services may be scheduling visitors or confirming with parents specific activities at certain times and this is to ensure they're noting the accurate times. Posting outside your classroom is also a licensing requirement.
Zoo Field Trip Reminder — Just a reminder that our Preschool Zoo Field Trip to the Oakland Zoo is coming up on Friday, June 5th! Please make sure you are reminding preschool families to RSVP via the Google Form that was shared through email and our newsletters. If families have any questions or need the link resent, please encourage them to reach out. We want to make sure every family has the chance to join in on the fun! 🦒 Thank you for helping spread the word!
Friendly Reminders: Being Considerate in Our Shared Spaces — As a team, we all share our space and resources, and a little mindfulness goes a long way! Here are a few reminders to help keep things running smoothly for everyone:
- 🚰 Kitchen Sink: After using the sink, please clean out any debris and empty the strainers on each side into the trash.
- ❄️ A/C Usage: If your space is warm, start by opening a window first. If that's not enough, close the window and then turn on the A/C. Once it's no longer needed, please turn it off. Family Services will do a sweep to turn off any A/Cs still running around 4:30 PM — but let's be mindful before then, as the costs can add up!
- 🧹 Shared Spaces: If your class uses the playground or any shared room for a special event or party, please make sure to clean up before leaving. Regardless of who has that area on their duty list for the week, the responsibility falls on the group that used the space.
