Stephen Vogt Makes History—Then Goes All In for Kids

When Stephen Vogt accepted the role of manager for the Cleveland Guardians, few could have predicted what came next: back-to-back American League Manager of the Year honors in his first two seasons—a first in Major League Baseball history.

Vogt, a former All-Star catcher for the A’s and Giants, had spent his career leading by example—on the field, in the clubhouse, and in the community. But in 2024 and 2025, he did something unprecedented: he took a team under transformation and turned it into a force. Twice.

This wasn’t just about wins. It was about culture. Stephen’s leadership reflected the same principles he’s brought to every chapter of his career: consistency, communication, and belief in his people. And as national media caught on, it became clear—this wasn’t just a good story. It was baseball history.

Now, he’s bringing that same purpose home.

A Legacy Rooted in Community

Stephen and his wife Alyssa have been champions of the School of Imagination since 2014. They’ve visited classrooms, funded early intervention services, and built bridges between professional athletes and local kids with neurodiverse needs.

This January, Stephen returns to the Bay Area not as a manager—but as a host, a fundraiser, and a lifelong SOI champion.

He’ll lead the 2026 All In for Kids Celebrity Poker Tournament—a two-day experience filled with sports legends, community leaders, and supporters of inclusive childhood education. The event will raise funds to expand SOI’s groundbreaking programs, including their inclusive playground, scholarships, and early intervention services.

“We’re Going All In”

“This isn’t just a poker night,” Stephen says. “It’s about giving every kid the chance to reach their full potential—on the field, in the classroom, and in life. I’ve seen firsthand what SOI does for families. That’s why we’re going all in.”

He’ll be joined by Melissa Hernandez, former Mayor of Dublin and BART Director, serving as Honorary Co-Chair, and Supervisor David Haubert, one of the earliest champions and sponsors of the event.

Be Part of the Legacy

Whether you’re a baseball fan, a poker player, or a believer in inclusive education—this is your invitation to join Stephen for a weekend of purpose and play.
