Mitch Sigman
A sports medicine clinician by training, Mitch left a career in athletic medicine in 2006 to help build Charlene's vision. Today he leads the organization's finance, operations, and development, the infrastructure that lets the clinical and education teams focus on children.
Mitch met Charlene, his future wife and his inspiration, in college, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine and athletic training.
In New York, Mitch served as Director of Sports Medicine, working alongside renowned NY Jets team physician Dr. Nicholas. He created the Locust Valley Unified School District sports medicine program and launched free injury clinics and multidisciplinary examinations for public-school student-athletes. He later served as Head Men's Athletic Trainer for Florida Atlantic University.
His clinical work has been published in the Journal of Emergency Medicine and The Physician and Sports Medicine, and he co-authored the revision of the New York State E.M.T. protocol for managing spinal cord injuries in football players.
Today he is responsible for the organization's finances, operations, and development, the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that keeps an integrated care system running. His work helping families of children with special needs earned him a Jefferson Award for public service.
